MISSISSIPPI EARL BROWN
THE PHILADELPHIA BLUES SOCIETY NIGHT
It may not have been the Devil they made a deal with, but now that MISSISSIPPI EARL BROWN has reconstituted itself, it must continue to roam the music-scape, pleasing the goddess of the Blues, for the rest of their lives.
Concert - $20 at the door / $18 with Member Card
Kitchen and Happy Hour!- 6pm, Showtime - 8pm
Online advance ticket sales close at 5pm day of show
Let me give you a little history on Mississippi Earl Brown. The original band was formed in the Sixties , coming from my new found interest in Delta Blues and my present interest in British Blues ,Peter Green, Clapton etc....Earlier interest leading to this is what I now call Hippie Blues more on that later. I did not sing at the time but I meet a singer who liked John Lee and other people I was also interested in, his name was George Thorogood we started a duo. George could play a little guitar and sing I just played guitar. I had met Jerry Ricks and was learning about root forms of music but mostly Delta Blues , so with Jerry Ricks influence the two of us put together a act. At times we could get a drummer and bass player but not on a steady bases . Very few people we knew were interested in playing Blues. One of the bass players toke a interest and joined the group, so with Mike Williams better know to us as Pup we became a trio. At one time we made a 4 track recording and Pup came across it about a year ago he got me to listen to it and much to my surprise it was very good. We decided to resurrect the Name and start a new Mississippi Earl Brown Band.
Once again it was time to kneel at the alter of the Delta Blues.... make an offering to please the gods that watch over practitioners of the mysterious, soul-stretching worshipers of The Delta Blues.
Garry Cogdell plays and sings the Delta Blues, backed up by: Jimmy Baldwin-on guitar; Mike 'Pup' Williams on bass and vocals; and Tim Thorn pulsating the percussion. These guys have been there, and done that, and keep on doing it over and over. This time out the band is fortunate to have session and road veteran Lindsay Lee on keys
And of course, Garry is almost as well known for his gifts as a raconteur, as he is for his music. That is why this show is for the most part, un-edited, so that all the cogent observations, historical recollections, and copious complaints, receive a proper airing.
You can view these living musical fossils in their natural habitat, and observe a beautiful thing: Masterful Musicians celebrating the art-form of The Delta Blues...

Blues icon Jimmy Rogers (whose best known songs included "Walking By Myself" and "Ludella") hired Moss as his touring guitarist, mentoring him on the blues lifestyle along the way. Today, Moss’ blistering fretwork, impassioned, soul-charged vocals and memorable original songs place him in a league of his own....Dennis Gruenling, Moss’ friend of over 20 years, is considered among today’s most innovative and creative blues harmonica players. His high-energy, full-throttle reed work has earned him comparisons to many of the greats, including the late James Cotton. A self-taught player and a natural entertainer with seven solo albums and numerous guest appearances to his credit, Gruenling’s giant, fat-toned harp work, raw-boned singing and untamed energy are a perfect foil for Moss’ inspired guitar playing and straight-from-the-shoulder blues vocals. Vintage Guitar says, “Gruenling’s harp, along with the Midwestern intensity of Moss’ blues guitar, is pure ecstasy.”
The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling's first two Alligator albums, 2018's The High Cost Of Low Living and 2019’s Lucky Guy!, hit blues fans, press and radio by storm. Moss, Gruenling and the band received a total of five Blues Music Awards, with wins in 2020 for Band Of The Year, Song Of The Year (“Lucky ) and Traditional Blues Album Of The Year (Lucky Guy!), and in 2019 for Traditional Blues Male Artist (Moss) and Instrumentalist—Harmonica (Gruenling). Blues Music Magazine says, “Nick Moss is a major force in contemporary blues. Dennis Gruenling plays soaring harp...infectious and finger-snappin’.”

TONY BALDINI AND THE BASTARDS

We are Stargazer Lily - formed at the end of the last millennium when bars were still smoky, and music streaming hadn’t yet imploded the music industry.... After a brief dalliance with Arista Records, we self-released four albums over six years, touring extensively and building up a dedicated fan base. We called it quits in 2005 with a sold-out World Cafe Live performance - wisely before the rigors of life as an independent band could tear us permanently apart. In the 19 years since the split, we’ve lived on three continents, experiencing profound love, loss, and growth, both personally and musically. Our bond has endured over that time, and we return now clear-eyed, with a single focus: creating music we want to hear. We’ve been busy writing and recording new music that we can’t wait to share with you.
Born out of the Manayunk music scene when venues were opening back up during Covid pandemic, Baldini and The Bastards features unique songwriting rooted in American traditions of folk, blues, country, rock and roll, along with Italian influences of their lead, singer-songwriter guitarist Anthony Baldini. Dylan McGehean on bass (Insects in
Amber) and Ian Kung on drums (Red Tailed Rounders, Hodgepodge, Astrals) hold a tight grooving hypnotic rhythm, while Doug Myers on keys (Turtle Ridge, Perils) and Dan Wurtz on guitar (Perils) create atmospheric and down-to-earth licks and tricks. Each song has its own mood and subject matter, capturing themes of joy, loneliness, desperation, chaos, calmness, depression, delusion, politics, formations of love;
anything goes in their musical and lyrical experiments. After playing many shows throughout the tri-state area, they released their debut album, “Al Dente”, recorded at Sound Splitter Studios, on November 6, 2022. They are recording their second album at Retro City Studios in November of 2024 under the tutelage of producer, Steve LaFashia.

Like a slow cooked gumbo, sometimes it takes some time for the taste to become sublime.... The same may be said for these five gentlemen who have combined decades of playing in other groups into a stew of blues cooked to perfection Five veteran bluesmen with long and storied careers playing America's original musical artform as handed down through the years by the black men and women whose lives were shaped by tribulation and hardship in the American south, largely at the hands of slavery, and refined and electrified in the big citys up north after emancipation. Long is the list of greats who formed and influenced these gentlemen today, and fortuitous circumstance brought them together while performing at Jamey's House of Music in Lansdowne PA, where they played with other well known blues acts.
AC Steel and the Perpetrators will take the stage for a one hour set at 7pm, and welcome guest jammers to perform from 8 to 10pm - offering support as needed. AC will begin the night playing the beautiful telecaster guitar which will be won by one lucky admission ticket purchaser (providing there are at least 25 guests in attendance)!
AC Steel (Steve Solotist) is one of America's preeminent blues players, who cut his teeth performing overseas during the British blues invasion in the early 70's. What do guitar legends Peter Green, Bernie Marsden and Michel Schenker have in common with Steve?
Bernie Marsden and Michel Schenker were the guitarists to join UFO after Steve won the audition but passed on the position due to another commitment. Peter Green joined the Brunning Hall Band with former Fleetwood Mac bassist Bob Brunning and Savoy Brown pianist Bob Hall, some years after Steve left that band.
Back in the USA, Steve's own band Stockyard opened for the Allman Brothers, Chicago, Humble Pie, Pink Floyd, Savoy Brown, Mott the Hoople (where Steve was practically a member) and many others.
During his many years with Philadelphia's oldest blues band, the Dukes of Destiny, Steve shared the stage with nearly every big name blues outfit in existence. It was at Jamey's House of Music, where Steve played and sang with the Philly Blues Kings and the Girke-Davis Project, that he subsequently joined with core players from both bands to form his latest effort, AC Steel and the Perpetrators. The Perpetrators features seasoned bluesmen Jamey Reilly on bass, Glenn Bickel on keyboards and vocals, Frank McKitty on tenor sax and Paul Albrecht on drums. AC Steel and the Perpetrators takes inspiration from many of the artists that Steve rubbed shoulders with, and reinterprets many old standards and brings out new and original compositions.
Saxophonist Frank McKitty grew up in Queens, NY. After receiving a Bachelor Music, Saxophone and Flute in New Orleans, Frank returned to New York where, while working as a teamster and later in Special Markets and AP/AR for New Line Home Video during the day, had the opportunity to work with groups including, The Lynn Oliver Orchestra, The Stan Rubin Orchestra, Los Tremendos de Colombia, Los Chevres de Columbia, Las Chicas and other latin and jazz groups in addition to his own small group.
Frank’s performance experience includes venues; Birdland, the Iridium, the Kat Club, the DuPont/Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, Chris’ Jazz Cafe and the premiere of an original composition at Merkin Hall, New York.
Since relocating to the Philadelphia area, Frank has been active in the Blues scene working freelance and as a regular with “Kitty Mayo and Venom Blues” appearing on their new release “Jamland” (2024) and being inducted into the Delaware Rock and Roll Society Hall of Fame in 2023. Additionally, until 2020, Frank was teaching Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet and Oboe privately. In 2023 Frank released his self-produced album “Praxis” available on all of your favorite streaming services.
Glenn Bickel is a veteran of the piano and Hammond organ, as a respected keyboardist with numerous blues artists over many years on stage and in the recording studio.
Glenn is a founding member of Leroy Hawkes and the Hipnotics, opening act to John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray, The Commitments, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and Chris Cain. Glenn was a part-time member of Chris Cain's band and was house keyboardist for Randy Lippincott at Warmdaddy's for 7 years.
He is father to two talented musicians, The Bickel Brothers who follow him in the music tradition, and is a software developer who enjoys fine woodworking in his spare time.
Drummer Paul Albrecht, a lifelong Philadelphia-area resident, has been performing professionally since he was 15. He has a long, diverse professional background in American music styles, primarily rock, pop, blues, and jazz. He attended Berklee College Of Music(1973-74), studying with legendary jazz drummer Alan Dawson, then continued his studies locally with Nick Moffo. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Paul performed extensively in the Tri-State area with many groups, playing rock,Top 40, disco, country ,new wave-the popular styles of the time, and played with Philly jazz legends The Visitors(Earl and Carl Grubbs) for a brief period.
In 1986, Paul began a steady gig with legendary Philadelphia-based jazz virtuoso multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Bruce Mills. Mr. Mills’group was the house band at Jewel’s, playing opening and intermissions for many national and international jazz artists. The group then became the house band at Sterling’s Place, performing 3-4 nights a week until Mr. Mills’ passing in 1989. Philly jazz legends Jymie Merritt(bass) and Eddie McFadden(guitar), among others, were members of the group for a period.
During this period Paul also began his own jazz group, which he led until 2006 .He featured many notable Philadelphia jazz artists, including Dylan Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Bill Zinno,Tim Price, Paul Gehman, Denise Montana, Mark Kramer, Kenny Kellem, Cliff Kellem, Frank Cook ,Joe Stevenson, Ed Crockett, Rich Budesa, and John Ellis, among others. As well as restaurant, club, and private work, the group also performed at the Berks Jazz Fest, the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, the Peco Energy Jazz Festival,The Philadelphia Free Library, and the Pennsylvania Academy Of The Fine Arts. The 1990s also saw Paul doing plenty of rock ,blues, oldies, and private engagements with many area groups, including a stint with blues diva Deb Callahan.
Bassist Jamey Reilly was trained on accordian, piano and guitar at a young age, and has held down the low end since 1965 when he joined the pop group, "The Abstract Design." He has been an avowed blues lover since 1970 when he did a stint with legendary bluesman John Lee Hooker, and tried to coax Son House out of retirement. It was a reunion performance at Boston's Fenway Theatre that Jamey pulled together, with Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield that cemented his life long addiction to the blues.
Jamey has done gigging around the east coast and has backed some well known national blues names. His playing can be found on a number of CDs by various artists. He spent several decades in numerous roles in the professional audio engineering and live music industry. He pursued a degree in Physical Therapy after two separate accidents with a car and a power saw left his right hand partially paralyzed.
After spending many years on the road and living in various parts of the country, he finally set down roots in Philadelphia and joined the vibrant Philly music scene. Jamey opened the popular Jamey's House of Music, Livehouse, restaurant and bar in Lansdowne PA.
Jamey enjoys an old-school pocket-playing style with melodic embellishments, and provides a solid bottom to the music on his 5 string bass. He fell in love with the low end while growing up listening to the great bass players of the '50's on his parents hi-fi, and spent a life-time seeking the holy grail of flawless bass reproduction during his many years in pro-audio. The New Jersey songwriter might have started out banging on doors, braving New York's blues clubs, playing piano until her fingers bled, and winning over the city one show at a time. But lately, the multi-instrumentalist has raced through career milestones at a rocket pace. ...There was her Blues Blast and IBMA-nominated 2018 debut album, High Road. Her international breakout on Ruf's 2022 Blues Caravan Revue. Her starburst of media acclaim, including Henry Yates of Classic Rock, NME, and The Guardian, saluted "a runaway talent you need to keep up with."
Now, with the release of her second album, On My Way, Katie has found another gear. Whether slinging her trusty Gibson SG, hammering the keys, or hollering up a storm, these ten original songs, co-written with bassist and slide-guitar maestro Antar Goodwin, announced her as an alchemist who creates gemstones from the base metals of American roots.
"There's a great range of songs on this album," Katie reflects. "You get a sense of the things I've been going through, the fights I've won, the fights I've lost, and the determination needed to continue. All wrapped in a rock and roots package."
The story goes that at one early show, a fan astutely observed: "It's like she's got John Lee Hooker in her pocket!" Scratch this young artist, and you'll find an old soul. Fingering her first piano chords, aged six, and scrawling early songs in the back of her school notebooks, Katie was the heart of singalongs at her family home in New Jersey.
With fiery guitar chops and natural charisma, she was soon a New York City jam scene favorite. Those who were there, remember songs of many genres, blues, rock, RandB, funk, pop, soul, and country, and her stage presence evoked Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin at their most magnetic.
And while “High Road” was the introductory handshake, On My Way is the profoundly personal second album on which Katie gives you her beat-up heart. It all started in May 2021, when Brooklyn's Degraw Sound opened its doors to Katie and producer/guitarist Ben Rice. The crack lineup of Goodwin, Kurt Thum (piano/organ,) and Greg Wieczorek (drums/percussion,) plus British harp ace Giles Robson. "We recorded the album live during the pandemic," reflects Katie, "and it was so fun to be able to record in a room with people after feeling isolated for such a long time. The majority of the album was laid down live, and I love that feeling. It's like capturing lightning in a bottle."

“Callahan blends timely probing lyrical content with classic blues all served up with her fiery take no prisoners power. Callahan’s voice packs a hefty punch with just a hint of urbane gravel while her smooth vibrato smooths those edges into an endlessly inviting package.”..."Callahan’s voice has the spiked fervor of contemporary Susan Tedeschi, but it’s richer and smoother. Stylistically she’s picked up a lot from one of her earlier influences, Nina Simone – Simone’s squirming rhythms and hypnotic vocals reverberate in Callahan’s music.” “Deb Callahan is a shouter, a crooner, a soul-belter and above all a gifted lyrical interpreter. She could sing the phone book and make it sound good.” Philly’s blues and soul drenched singer and songwriter Deb Callahan recently celebrated the March 2023 release of her 6th studio album “Backbone”! The album consists of 12 songs including 10 original new tunes and recently charted #2 for the Roots Music Report Top 50 Blues albums. Her music has received some great national and international airplay on blues and triple A radio stations and is beginning to garner great press and reviews. ” The new album was produced by Philadelphia producer, songwriter, and guitarist Chris Arms and recorded live at Morningstar Studios in Glenside, PA. Deb recorded this album with her road tested, all-star band of Allen James on guitar, Garry Lee on bass and Tom Walling on drums. The CD features London producer and songwriter Danny Schogger on keyboards and Arms on slide guitar. There are guest appearances by Great Britain’s Alan Glass on acoustic guitar, and Philly musicians; Jay Davidson on sax, Steve Jankowski on horn/trombone, John Colgan Davis on harmonica and Charlene Holloway on backing vocals. “Backbone” has a blues and funk base and embraces a range of rock, soul, roots and swing styles. The songwriting reflects the intense impact of world events over the past few years exploring themes of uncertainty, vulnerability, being comfortable with and showing up for oneself, taking a stand, polarization in beliefs, freedom and letting go. Deb worked with Arms, Schogger and James to write much of the original material and chose two covers that fit in well with the material including Percy Mayfield’s “Danger Zone” and Sean Costello’s “Anytime You Want”. Deb and her core band’s sixteen years plus of performing and touring together shines through on this CD, creating a unique chemistry and an ability to play with natural, nuanced improvisation.
Deb and her band have been performing, touring, recording and entertaining music fans both regionally and around the United States since the late 1990s. Deb has released 5 prior CDs since 2002: If the Blues Had Wings, The Blue Pearl, Grace and Grit, Tell It Like It is, Sweet Soul and a limited edition World Café Live DVD. She has graced the stages of many festivals nationwide from The Monterey Bay Blues Festival in Monterey, CA, The Springing the Blues Fest in Jacksonville, FL, The Bayfront Blues Fest in Duluth, MN to WXPN’s XPonential Music Festival in Philly.

The BlackTails met in Spy College where they passed time listening to Miles Davis and Steve Ray Vaughan, watching Semper Occultus M16-007 films and reading IX Century Spy Novels. With the intention to tour the world and do espionage they created a Spy Band ®. They accomplished strenuous missions while rockin' every joint. They became a world class act. The BlackTails can jam, jazz, rock, and spy with swiftness, celerity and gusto. They could be in your area right now, be on the lookout....Peter "Fox" Farrell - Keys-Hammond XK-3c Organ-Accordion-Vocals
From Puerto Rico via Tokyo and NY Peter nails the Philly sound!!!
Born in Puerto Rico, raised in Tokyo (11 years) and schooled at traditional boarding schools in the UK, Farrell brings an international flavor to his spy music. He is an expert baccarat player, gathering critical intelligence at the world's high stake casinos.
Derek "El Gretcho" Landel - Drums
Berklee College of Music drummer extraordinaire!!!
Hailing from the great state of NJ, home of great spies like Kalixto Lanza and Uber Niber, Derek graduated from Syracuse University where he founded the band "Professor Spy Spoon" which won the 1993 Spy SAMMY Award for Best College Band. He leads a double life as a drummer spy and father.
"Fender" Fredi Meli - Fender Bass, 5 String and Double Bass
Berklee College of Music Mr Bass awesomeness!!!
Swiss national Fredi Meli spent many of his formative years writing and touring throughout Europe posing as a musician before he came to the US to study at Berklee College where he built his American roots performing and learning his first Spy skills. Over the years his work has been featured on TV, in Off Off Broadway productions and he is a regular at top session gigs in NYC and shady bars, a mole that burrows deeper than any bass.
Frank "Rayo" Romeo - Electric guitar
Mr Epic guitar player amazing genius!!!
The only real musician in the band. Classically and “scene” trained throughout the country in the 1970’s through the present day, Frank Romeo presents a mix of Fusion, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Classical threads which meander through his original playing tapestry. Having played with Percy Jones and studied with Rolando Blain, Bill Connors, Wayne Krantz and Manuel Barrueco, Romeo has been able to fuse his style with that of the BlackTails, making a musical mixologist’s dream a fantastic reality. He is curiously effortless at slashing with his axe.
Kevin "Suave" Danenberg - Alto sax
Suave on the sax, jams like a gem!!!
He was the first spy to enter the Purple Cow Spy Academy in Lindburg Oklahoma at the age of 3. He graduated Magna Cum Spyder 2 years later at the age of 5 but nobody ever knew that, that's why he's such a great spy. When not building spy gadgets, he's analyzing the intelligence for actionable data and identifying enemy weak points. Congratulations Suave!
William "The Cat" Catanzaro - Percussion-Gadgets-Vocals
From Argentina, William knows how to shake it!!!
William is an eclectic and famously unknown composer and multi-instrumentalist born in Buenos Aires and based in New York since the Disco era. Mr. Catanzaro's work has received many awards and worldwide recognition, he has composed musical scores for world renowned choreographers, Off Broadway productions, multimedia shows and film. All of his scores contain hidden messages, so hidden that no one understands them and they have never been decoded. Perhaps future generations will be able to crack this code. In the meantime we'll keep listening, and as he always says: " Jolly good, carry on, pay no mind."

Book Binder, travelled with the legendary Rev. Gary Davis in the late 60's..... The Book, recorded his first solo acoustic Blues album in the 70's, which was the first to receive 5 stars in DOWNBEAT magazine! In the late 80's 'The Book' was part of Bonnie Raitt's East Coast Tour, which included an appearance on The Grand Old Opry which led to almost 30 appearances on NASHVILLE NOW's, Ralph Emory Show! In the 90's he often appeared with JORMA KAUKONEN (who recorded 2 of Roy's songs)...THE GOOD BOOK, Roy's latest release of all original songs, reached #3 on AirPlayDirect's Americana charts! #1 was Guy Clark and #2 was the late Townes Van Zandt. Folkdj.org had Roy in the top 3 artists for July.
Roy has the goods: the original, the bare-knuckle, the low-down . . . blues. Who can say they were friends with the Rev. Gary Davis, Pink Anderson and Robert Lockwood? And toured with Arthur Big Boy Crudup, Hot Tuna, JJ Cale and Bonnie Raitt ? Roy can. He has the stories, the licks, and the mystery of timeless music in his fingers. He’s been featured on a PBS special and interviewed by Terry Gross on “Fresh Air.” He’s also a regular at Fur Peace Ranch, where he teaches along with Jorma Kaukonen. When he brings his 'Tour Bus' to town, a one-man blues-fest ensues. He plays and he entertains, feeding us music and stories, and the evening is a celebration for us all. We’re privileged to have Roy here to preserve–and extend—the tradition of great American blues music. (JAMES HIPP)
"BY FAR the best live music venue on the East Coast"
"One of the finest Venues in the USA. Jamey's House of Music"
"No kidding - Jamey's House of Music just might be the best music venue on the planet. If you enjoy live music and fine dining - go there now!"
"...the coolest venue in the universe..."
"Best. Venue. Ever."
"It's like being inside a bubble of pure sound."
"I could feel the bass in my heart. It was awesome."
"We just bought a house in Lansdowne to be closer to Jamey's"
Jamey's House of Music is Delco's best kept secret! What a gem of a space - intimate, amazing acoustics, and talented and engaging musicians. Sets run about 2 hours. The bar has a partnership with Conshohocken Brewery and offers a wide selection of beer as well as cocktails. The food is sensational -- check out the online menu ahead of time and then ask for recommendations from your server. We came in, new to the space, and fell in love with the entire vibe. Best of all was the service -- we were treated like family. We left having made friends with everyone and will certainly be back for a Thursday jazz session, another Friday or Saturday evening blues show, and the Sunday blues brunch. Prices are reasonable (about $75 for the ticket price plus food and alcohol) and there is plenty of nearby parking. If you love live music, jazz and blues, and intimate spaces with top noch sound, this is the place to be. Introduce yourself to Jamey too - he has a long and rich history of working in the music business.
"For musicians, this venue is heaven on earth!"
"Truly the very coolest venue for live music ANYWHERE"
The Lightyears: "Jamey’s House of Music is in our top 3 all time venues to play along side The 02 Arena & Marquee Club, London"
"...If you've never been to Jamey's - it's like you died and went to heaven, the venue is state-of-the-art and puts other music venues to shame, the food, craft ales and wine menus are incredible and the staff and crew are all amazing. AND - if (for some sad reason) you can't get there - Jamey's live-stream their concerts ..the legendary Jamey Reilly, emperor of the hippest music venue in the multiverse..."
"We can't wait until you have your venue up and running again!! It's recognized as one of the top small venues in the region, if not in the entire country!!"
- Black Oak Artists
"Home. It's doesn't get any warmer than being in Jamey's House!"
"We've played every kind of venue imaginable on several world tours, and I have to tell you that this is probably the best venue we have ever played. It's simply brilliant. Thank you for everything done to perfection."
"What an amazing room! A friend asked me today what I thought of the room and without hesitation I said it was in the top five I’ve ever done. It was more than just the great sound, stage and set up. It was clear to me that there was such respect for the musician from the moment I walked in."
"Jamey Reilly couldn't possibly have created a finer oasis for musicians to perform. It's really a gem. SERIOUSLY! Everybody try and get a date there!!! (Just leave some room for us because we're definitely going back!!!)"
"Amazing! A hidden, intimate live music venue with impeccable sound. Sat at long tables next to total strangers and it felt like being with family. Delicious food (and great craft beer the night I was there). It’s rare to find a venue owner who cares this passionately about the music! Two big thumbs up."
"Last night we debuted at Jamey Reilly’s Jamey’s House of Music. Jamey has outdone himself. He has an incredible backline, and the sound, which he engineers is exquisite. Working with Jamey helps make performing seamless. He knows what he is doing and is an excellent communicator. He is also a musician, which helps a great deal (the man has ears). The food at this venue is incredible. The flavor-I can’t begin to find the words to express how excellent it is. If you have not been to Jamey’s House of Music, get down there, catch a show. Get there early and enjoy the amazing cuisine. It will blow your mind."
"This small room is by far the best sounding music venue I've ever experienced. It's a truly exceptional labor of love..."
"Not enough room here to tell you how fabulous this venue is—music, people, food, on-tap beer, and staff are all top drawer! Prices are fantastic! The photos are shrimp over grits and a fabulous vegan burger with vegan bacon!"
"THE place to Jam!!! Jamey is the man, the myth, the legend. Great equipment & exceptional drum set."
"Jamey's is the BEST. People who never heard of the band will show up to listen, because they KNOW Jamey books the official bands, has the great food, great sound, great atmosphere...and now great craft beer. WORLD CLASS JOINT, yo!"
"I tell everyone about Jamey and Jamey's House of Music. Everyone in Nashville knows about this place. I play some of the best rooms in the world, like the Bluebird, Douglas Corner, Third and Lindsley, places with great sound systems, and nothing beats the sound in this room. ...This is my favorite place to play in the whole world."
"The sound is absolutely perfect. I could hear every note of every instrument. Just incredible."
"Great pro sound, fantastic food, great beer and an owner that is a super nice human!!!"
"Congratulations to the incredible Jamey Reilly for spending this (COVID shutdown) time improving facilities at the already fabulous Jamey's House of Music, the best music venue in the Philadelphia area."
I'm a "venue snob" and this place is AWESOME ! Cozy, intimate, acoustically A+, comfy seating, bathroom is spotless, people are warm & friendly ... can't wait to return !
"... a dream performance space. Perfect acoustics, top quality production values, a visually lovely setting, and an overall aesthetic ambience that, like a tea ceremony, lifts every gesture to it's highest level. It's perfection, both for the audience and the performers."
"Intimate music venue with great artists. Offers several craft beers on tap— a full bar bar with Pennsylvania spirits and cider is soon to come. The excellent food and friendly service are an added delight. Highly recommend Jamey’s for an enjoyable evening of music and dinner at a reasonable price. Also very gluten friendly."
"And a special thanks to Jamey Reilly for his hospitality and for providing what is surely one of the greatest listening rooms in the country!"
Says John Nemeth and the Blue Dreamers: "Lansdowne is hands down - number 1!"
This wonderful Man, known to many of you bc he is Jamey Reilly who owns and runs Jamey's House of Music. Jamey did an amazing thing for me. I was shooting one night at his place and he asked to see me...I came back to him and here he was holding up a little button and said to me, "Do you know what this is?" Noooo I siad, "It's the Liza button!" He said, and pointed it at the stage and clicked the button and the stage lights all changed to exactly the kind of light I like to shoot with! I couldn't believe it! Jamey Reilly, you are SUCH a class act. I wish all venue owners were like you.
THANK YOU!!!
"Totally going again soon! A++++++!!!"
"I can't even explain how delicious everything was."
"One word. ..incredible!"
